GAZAdoubledoublebonuspokertripleplay, July 13 (Xinhua) -- At least 15 Palestinians were killed and many others injured on Saturday in an Israeli airstrike on the al-Shati refugee camp in the west of Gaza City, the Palestinian official news agency WAFA reporteddoubledoublebonuspokertripleplay.
Israeli warplanes targeted a prayer hall in the camp, WAFA said.
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli army on the incident. The Israel Defense Forces said in a statement on Saturday that its operational activities continue throughout the Gaza Strip.
Also on Saturday, at least 71 Palestinians were killed and 289 others injured by an Israeli airstrike that attacked tents of displaced people in the Mawasi area of the Khan Younis city in the south of Gaza, the Gaza health authorities said.
Israel launched a large-scale offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip to retaliate against a Hamas rampage through the southern Israeli border on Oct. 7, 2023, during which about 1,200 people were killed and more than 200 others were taken hostage.■
