LONDON, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- Around 100 firefighters and fifteen fire engines were dispatched to Somerset House on Saturday morning in response to a fire at one of London's most iconic landmarks.
Videos on social media showed fire and smoke visible on the roof of the building, which dates back to the 16th century and is now used as a venue for galleries.
As of 1hollywoodsquares:30 p.m. local time, the venue was closed as the London Fire Brigade responded to the incident, according to a statement on the brigade's social media page of X.■
