According to the website of the Chongqing Municipal people's Government, on May 16, the Information Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government held a press conference on the start of the construction of the Chongqing International Railway Port Comprehensive Free Trade Zone (hereinafter referred to as "Railway Comprehensive bonded area"). According to reports, on April 30 this year, the State Council formally approved the establishment of a comprehensive railway insurance zone in Chongqing. The comprehensive insurance zone is expected to be completed in March next year and will be accepted in April. So far, the number of comprehensive insurance areas in Chongqing has reached 7.
In addition, Xiongan Comprehensive Free Trade Zone (Phase I), Beijing Zhongguancun Comprehensive Free Trade Zone and Taizhou Comprehensive Free Trade Zone have all passed the acceptance check this year. Public data show that at present, there are more than 160 comprehensive bonded areas in China, covering 31 provinces (autonomous regions and cities). In 2023, the total value of imports and exports of goods in the national comprehensive bonded areas exceeded 6 trillion yuan, accounting for about 15 percent of the country, effectively promoting the development of foreign trade.
According to this year's "Government work report", the tasks of the government in 2024 include "opening up to the outside world at a high level and promoting mutual benefit and win-win results", including "promoting the stability of foreign trade quality and quantity" and "increasing efforts to attract foreign investment." Guo Yiming, director of Jufeng Investment Consulting, told the Securities Daily that the comprehensive insurance area is one of the important signs of China's high-level opening up to the outside world, and the continuous construction and continuous expansion of the national comprehensive insurance area will be conducive to China's high-level opening up to the outside world, and will also bring new opportunities and inject new momentum into the development of foreign trade in various places. At the same time, it is conducive to the upgrading and transformation of the industry and the improvement of the level of foreign trade, and promote the high-quality development of China's economy.
